Welcome
Hello, Welcome to Wildrose and Thyme. I am Mimi Dougherty, owner and designer of Wildrose and Thyme. I began this business after a career in International Policies and after having four children. It was after they were born that I rediscovered my childhood. As a child I always played outside among the flowers whether it was building little homes among fallen branches or walking outside in the rain and discovering all the new flowers. And as a young girl I often helped my aunt with weddings and floral design. But there was a gap as I went off to college and had my own children. Later, when a few friends and my siblings were getting married, I meekly told them that I knew how to do flowers. After doing a few weddings for them, I decided to start my own business. At the same time, my interest in photography bloomed as well. I was taking photos of my children and posting them on social media and that caught the attention of these same brides, so I also photographed their weddings as well! It was a fun little beginning. And as mom it was
At the heart of what sets Wildrose and Thyme apart is how it was started. I used nature to source many of my products and also as the backdrop of my photography. I use products in my backyard and things I grow. And I source my flowers from local growers, which are truly the freshest you can find! And because of that my flowers are seasonal, you often see fall leaves in my fall weddings, and berries and evergreens in the winter. My flowers aren’t shipped from far away, they are produced locally, made with flowers grown locally, and changes with the season.
Joining the Wildrosea and Thyme team is Bonnie Chan, she’s a local photographer and we’ve worked together seamlessly for many weddings and workshops. It is a natural extension for her to join the team and bring her photography expertise! Her photography is full of light, romance, and joy!
At Wildrose and Thyme, we like to make your floral and photography experience seamless, romantic, and adorning. We use the most organic local resources for our flowers, designing unique pieces that are lush, textural, and flowing, combining use of branches, herbs, seeds, fruits, and grasses for a bit of wildness. There’s movement to these pieces that make them come alive. Our photography captures this same flow with an eye for light, color, and movement. We bring you these floral and photography experiences through weddings, events, and workshops.
